Summer is about over!!

As bad as I hate to say this, the summer is ending for us. Even as I am typing this we are only about 30 days from school starting again. I hate that. We truly love our summers around here. Sleeping in and staying up late is what we do around this castle. With a shift worker in the family it is so easy to adapt to his sleeping schedule. This week we are all on Randal's graveyard schedule. So we are staying up eating popcorn and watching movies on Netflix.
We just wrapped up our short vacation to Chattanooga, TN. Donovan has been asking forever to go to an Aquarium. SO we loaded up and away we went. We threw a week's vaction into 3 days. We went to the long anticipated Aquarium, we went to the IMAX, and even threw in some shopping. YEP, we had a blast. That was the first vacation for us since Braylon was born. I sure have missed them too.  Of course we only braved a 3 day vacation because we were not really sure how Braylon would do. BUT he did great. I think we all were a little sad as we saw the TN sign go by. But it was agreed by all that vacations are a part of our future.
Well I guess it is time to get our staple food of popcorn and soda out and fire up the Netflix. Hopefully with things slowing down for a little while before school starts I can get more blogs going. In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying the last lazy days of your summer also.  I hope that I will be able to post pics of our vacation also. Not really sure how to do them, so be patient.  Love The Parrott's

Getting ready for Christmas

Well, I don't know about the rest of you out there, but our household is buzzing getting ready for Santa. Donovan spends a lot of time trying to explain to Braylon the importance of being good this time of year. As you can imagine Braylon has no idea what he is talking about and just laughs at his brother. This is going to be a fun year for Christmas in our house. Braylon will be 15 months old and we cannot wait to see him Christmas morning. But for now, we are getting out the decorations, lights, and tree. Donovan and Braylon both are getting really excited about seeing it all come together. So until it does, we hope you all are getting in the Christmas spirit too and we cannot wait to see your posts and pics.

This is Braylon and his daddy. As you can see his daddy has the magic touch to get him to sleep. It is amazing to see Braylon look at his daddy with complete trust.

This is a pic of my oldest, Donovan, and his awesome daddy. Donovan thinks the world of his daddy and agrees he is the strongest man God made. I love that.

Summer has commenced

Well, Summer has started and of course I am never ready. We decided to get Donovan a new water slide and hopefully save us some money on coming and going to keep him entertained. Well, I have to say that the slide is huge. I am not sure what we were thinking, but half my yard is covered in waterslide. So, if he is not entertained it is no fault of ours. I am hoping to get pics soon, so keep updated.

About the Parott's

Randal, or Randy as most of you know him, and I have been married for almost nine years in September. He is an Arkansas boy and I am a Tennessee girl. It's a wonder we can be in the same room. But we love each other none the less. We have added two beautiful children to our family and they are truly a blessing. We began our life together in Jax, Fla and moved to Crossett after Randal completed his duty to the Navy. We have moved away from Crossett only once and well here we are again. Randal works at GP and I am now a stay at home mommy and love it.
Donovan our oldest son just turned 6 in March. We cannot believe it! He is our sensitive one, but yet he is all boy too. I am homeschooling him this year, Kindergarten year, and I am loving the time he is spending with me. He has been in daycares since the age of 9mos before this and I am truly blessed for this year. Right now he is not participating in sports, but I feel that is all about to change, his friends are making him more aware of outside activities. At least he waited for his brother to get a little bigger.
Braylon is our baby at 7mos old. He will be the last one in this family and I am a little sad. I watch him do things for the first time and I am sad because I won't see another do those things. Braylon is a lot of fun and a lot more demanding. I am going to have to keep my eyes on this one. He is learning all sorts of things and before long he will be mobile. I guess now I have to prepare myself and my house for that. I can't wait!
Well that is a little about our family. We love to do things together, even if it is curling up on the couch and watching a movie. We enjoy our children and realize that we are so blessed. We thank God everyday for each other, our precious children, and our friends and family.
